Our podcast still says it best.

We are often asked about our museum-quality preservation chest. So we took these quick pics to show it off.

All of our customers’ dresses are returned in one. The chest is perfect for easy viewing and lifetime storage.

Thanks for looking.

Here’s a free tip.

Many of our clients get their dresses cleaned and preserved in order to resell them. Not a bad idea for those who don’t anticipate passing on their dress to a daughter. Or for those that don’t want to keep it for memories’ sake.

Often, a bride is looking to recover some of the cost they spent on their dress. Besides Ebay, there is a great site to do this. Preownedweddingdresses.com has an amazing selection of wedding dresses. Many of our clients’ use this site and have reported happy experiences back to us. Dresses seem to sell for higher amounts than is found on Ebay.

I’d say that’s a win-win for our clients.

By popular request, we’ve added gift cards to wedclean.net. Now our service can be bought in advance, or given as a gift.

We get a lot of future brides who visit our little blog just to ogle our “Dress of the Day” posts. Once inspired by something they see, these brides-to-be might enjoy visiting iVillage.com where they can design a wedding dress. Hey, it’s no Vera Wang, but it could help make shopping a little easier.

We hired Web Pens to make this promotional video for us.

Ask the Expert

All your answers are here, you just have to ask!

How to Handle Your Gown.

  • Be sure that any hands that will touch the gown are clean.
  • Place the chest face up on a bed so that the skirt end of the gown is facing you.
  • Open the lid and remove the viewing cover.
  • Make a mental note how the  gown is folded (in the chest) so you will be able to re-pack the gown exactly how you removed  it.
  • Unzip or unbutton the back of the gown.
  • Remove the dress so it slips off the bust form, attached to the inside of the chest. Lift the gown out of the chest.
  • Lay the dress out on the bed for inspection.
  • Replace the gown on the bust form and zip or button in place.
  • Re-fold the gown in the chest, as it was when you removed it.
  • Tuck in the skirt and train under the bodice and close up the chest.
  • Replace the viewing lid, close the lid and slip in the tabs at the bottom of the box.
  • Store your gown in a cool dark place.

Remember when you remove the gown from the storage chest the most common stains that may permanently damage your gown are: body oils, perspiration, pick-up soils, make-up, any liquids including moisture from the air, lotions, deodorants, etc.

Readers,

After seeing so many beautiful wedding gowns, day after day, Joanna and Bonnie suggested that we shared some of them with our readers.

Joanna started taking pictures and accumulated hundreds before I could get our blog set up. So I’ve asked them to cool their heals and limit the pictures to a Dress of the Day. The gown owner will be notified that her dress is on permanent display.

If we had our druthers, we’d keep them all :0)
